Do you ever get the feeling that you or someone around you has changed? Like you don’t have anything in common with that person anymore?

It can be a pretty shocking realisation; especially if you were once very close and shared everything together… to suddenly feel in your heart that the two of you are no longer on the same wavelength.

It may not even be a friend… perhaps someone you have worked closely with for some time and felt a strong connection with… until one day you realise you no longer feel aligned or have anything in common with them.

Broken HeartYou feel sad because they’ve been a part of your life for a long time and you’ve shared some amazing memories or successes. You feel scared… it would mean a big change in your life… what do you do?

I’m sure at least once you’ve pushed your feelings to one side and said nothing… carried on with the relationship but silently resenting the other person?

Am I right?

Now, I’d like to share something with you… perhaps you’ve already heard this quote before but not really given too much thought to how it applies to you?

“You are the average of the five people you spend most time with!” Jim Rohn

Wow. Just think about that for a second… choosing to stay around people who are not adding value to your life can limit your success?

Whereas you believe you’re “doing the right thing” by holding onto people that are not making a positive contribution to your life… what you’re really doing is limiting your success?!

Now I don’t know about you but when you see that phrased so bluntly, it’s pretty scary… right?

Knowing that hanging around with the wrong people is undoing all your hard work elsewhere… does that inspire you to take back control of your life?

Let’s look at it another way…
what if you had never given any thought to whether the people you surround yourself with are bringing a positive contribution to your life but you feel stuck… you know you have a difference to make and are committed to designing your ultimate lifestyle but, well… you’re not progressing as you hoped?

Are you simply the average of the five people you spend the most time with?

People CheeringYou see, there are some families where several generations have never worked and until someone breaks out of that negative pattern and begins to listen to people who believe they can fulfil their dreams, the story will continue into future generations.

If you surround yourself with people who don’t support or believe in your ambitions then your success could be limited too.

And very quickly, their limiting beliefs can become your roadblocks.

So, who are the people you spend the most time with? Are you more, or less average than you want to be right now?
